This Photoshop plug-in allows you to quickly and accurately navigate your way around large images. It works by creating a small floating palette thumbnail of your entire image. To navigate around in your open document, you simply click with your mouse or drag the positioning rectangle located inside the palette's thumbnail to the area of the image that you want to go. Your larger image will reposition itself accordingly. PhotoNavigator will save you lots of time, especially if you need to work while you are zoomed in at ratios greater than 1:1.
PhotoNavigator is designed to work with Adobe Photoshop 3.0.4 or later running on any Macintosh 68030-25 MHz or faster, 68040, or PowerPC processor. PhotoNavigator is not compatible with other products that run Photoshop Filters.
PhotoNavigator is "freeware"; you will never have to pay us anything to use it. However, after you use PhotoNavigator for 15 days, you will be asked to register your name with us (this will allow us to keep you informed about current and future Extensis products). Once you fill out and send in the electronic registration form, you will be able to use PhotoNavigator indefinitely.
Installing PhotoNavigator is easy - just unstuff the Stuffit archive, drag the PhotoNavigator Folder into your Photoshop plug-in folder and launch Photoshop. To open PhotoNavigator, simply select it from the "Palettes" pop-up underneath the "Windows" menu.
You can use Command+Shift+R to refresh the PhotoNavigator preview area without having to use your mouse. You can also move your PhotoNavigator positioning rectangle by using the Command+Arrow Keys.
If you are using DirectCursors with the ﾒbrush shapeﾓ option turned ON, you may find that occasionally the mouse cursor will not be visible in the Navigator palette. Moving your mouse off the Navigator palette and Image window will remedy this situation.
PhotoNavigator is a Photoshop filter with the same characteristics as all Photoshop filters. For example:
- Only the active layer is viewable by PhotoNavigator.
- PhotoNavigator does not display Indexed Color or Bitmap images.
- When using refresh, PhotoNavigator will disable a pending Undo when the refresh actually takes place. Undo will be fully functional between refreshes.
In addition to the above you may notice that larger images take a few seconds longer to open if PhotoNavigator is also open.
